January 2025 Adoptables

Each month, I host a Foster Photo Day as a free resource to help local fosters and rescues have access to professional imagery to help their pups be seen (and hopefully) adopted.

The goal is to give harder to adopt pups, such as the ones listed below, an edge in standing out among the millions of animals available for adoption.

These dogs are usually, but not always:

  • Older (usually 5 years of age or older)

  • Might have medical needs

  • Potentially have some kind of behavioral issues, like reactivity or needing to be the only pet

  • Are a restricted breed, like bully breeds

  • Are black in color (Black dogs are much less likely to get adopted in the shelter in a very common phenomenon called Black Dog Syndrome)

  • Or have just been overlooked for one reason or another

  • Have been in foster for a significant period of time; typically months, if not, years

Since the inception of this program back in October of 2021, we’ve photographed well over 200+ pups in foster across the Triangle through multiple rescues.

If you’d like to learn more about Foster Photo Day or register your own foster, you can do so here.

If you want to learn more about our Mission to help reduce animal overpopulation and homelessness in our state, read more about that here.

You can also support our Rescue Photography with a monetary contribution or pick up something for the pups off of our Rescue Photography Wishlist!

Without further ado, here are the adorable pups I had the pleasure to meet and photograph as part of our January Foster Photo Day! Feel free to share their profile or this post with anyone you know that might be looking to adopt.

KINGSLEY - BLAZIN’ TRAILS BOTTLE BABIES

King is so handsome! He is a very good, sweet boy. Housebroken! Neutered! Vaccinated! Healthy! Knows commands!

He’s the perfect package! He’s 7 months old, and looking for his family. Good with kids and other dogs, we don’t know if he’s been around cats.

COLBY - MITCHELL MILL ANIMAL RESCUE

Meet Colby, a dapper gentleman looking for his perfect home. Colby is an adult male that still has the energy of a younger fellow. He enjoys playing with other dogs and then cuddling with anyone willing to lay with him. Colby is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250.

OZ - HOPE ANIMAL RESCUE

This lovable pup is the total package: cuddly, playful, and oh-so-smart. Oz adores chomping on bones, curling up in your lap for snuggles, and impressing you with his growing list of skills—he already knows "sit" and "come" like a pro! He's highly motivated by praise and treats, making training a breeze. Oz is rocking his potty training and happily heads to his crate for naps or bedtime like a little champ. With his soft, velvety fur and adventurous, confident personality, he’s a joy to have around. Oz gets along wonderfully with kids and other dogs, making him the perfect addition to any loving family!

JETTA - CHARLEY’S K9 RESCUE

Jetta is a 1 year old 45lb girl. She is very friendly with all dogs and is learning how to live in a house. She is super playful and loves to snuggle. She is doing well with both house and crate training and learning to walk on a leash.

JULIANNE - NEUSE RIVER GOLDEN RETRIEVER RESCUE

Julianne’s story is one of resilience, patience, and love. Once a breeder dog, Julianne came to NRGRR emotionally shut down, unsure of the world outside her previous life. But with time and care, her true personality is blossoming, and she’s proving to be an incredibly special girl.

Julianne has learned to trust, and once she feels safe with you, she’ll become your most loyal companion. She’s a snuggle enthusiast, happiest curled up by your side after a long day. During work hours, she’s content to lay in her bed nearby, quietly keeping you company. But as soon as the workday ends, she eagerly awaits couch time with you—her favorite part of the day!

In her time with us, Julianne has learned to fetch! Seeing her excitement when she retrieves her toy is pure joy. She has a soft spot for stuffed animals, often falling asleep cuddling one. She also loves wandering the backyard, as long as you’re close by.

Julianne is blossoming into a brave, treat-motivated sweetheart. She’s now comfortable letting strangers approach her—especially if they come bearing snacks! With each new day, she’s proving just how much love she has to give to the right person.

Dogs come in with all kinds of needs. And sometimes the emotional scars require extended care and support. Help us support dogs like Julianne to overcome their past.
