Dog Friendly Places To Check Out In Cary, North Carolina
As one of the nation’s most popular places in the country to live, Cary has quite a number of pup friendly places for you and your dog to check out!
In fact, as part of a very special collaboration with our friends over at Mosa Pet Spa Resort, who is opening their brand new downtown Cary location this April, we wanted to highlight some of their favorite dog-loving businesses right in the heart of Cary.
Naturally, we needed dog models for this shoot! So, we looked no further than our rescue partners to provide the adora-bull models for each location. See what we did there?
Keep on scrolling to learn more about each business and the pup available for adoption!
A huge thank you to all of our participating businesses, rescues, fosters, and the team at the Bowerbird Agency for putting this all together!
Psst… Love this post? Be sure to pin it for later!
GOOD DAY CARY - DOWNTOWN CARY
Good Day Cary is a really fun, unique gift shop that has everything ranging from handmade jewelry, paper products, such as cards, baby items, bags, books, candles, one-of-a-kind art, and so much more. The proprietor, Krista, really focuses on handmade, local items from Cary makers and artists, smaller “Mom and Pop” companies, and made in the USA items when possible.
It her goal to find pieces that will bring you joy when you buy them and that you’re super excited to give others! Her entire motto for Good Day Cary is “Good vibes only.” And it’s true! You can’t walk into the shop without smiling at adorable location, super kind staff, and incredible gifts options.
And since you’ve found yourself here, you know you can bring your best friend with you to walk around the shop and pick up a new dog bandana or other accessory while you’re there.
Bronco, a Perfectly Imperfect Pups Alum, who has since found his forever home after this shoot, really enjoyed window shopping and getting lots of love from owner, Krista.
FRESH LOCAL ICE CREAM - DOWNTOWN CARY
A Raleigh staple and icon, Fresh Ice Cream is another perfect pup-stop when strolling along Academy St in Cary. On a hot summer afternoon, be sure to bring your favorite pooch by for one of their famous doggie sundaes (that Atlas above is clearly enjoying!).
What makes Fresh different is that their ice cream is handmade right here in Raleigh from milk provided by local dairy farms from free range cows that never use any pesticides, hormones, or pesticides!
With more than fifty local business partnerships to help create their iconic concoctions and over a dozen flavors to choose from at anytime, Fresh is assuredly a must check out spot for both pets and people in Cary.
String Bean, otherwise affectionately known as Atlas, is a six month old Blue Doberman mix available for adoption at Perfectly Imperfect Pups. Not only is Atlas the most handsome, but he is great with other dogs, kids, and people. He is still growing and learning his size, so older kids might be best. Clearly, he is food motivated, so he’d be a great candidate for any training you’d like to do. Head here to learn more about Atlas or apply to adopt.
BOND BROTHERS BEER COMPANY - DOWNTOWN CARY
Not only a dog friendly place to enjoy a pint or two, but Bond Brothers Beer Company has been instrumental in helping our shelter pups be seen through allowing WakeGov Pets host monthly and quarterly events at their original Cary location with some of our adoptables, donate a portion of their beer sales during special events, and be an advocate for anything our shelter might need including spreading the world on social media.
So, the next time you’re in town or want a fun place to stop by, enjoy the warm weather, and enjoy a good beer - consider stopping by Bond Brothers Beer Company with your furry best friends. Assuredly, there is always a food truck on site or another fun event going on. Be sure to head to their website for all food truck or upcoming event information!
For our Bond Bros shoot, we had two amazing models!
First up is Star, as seen above draped upon bartender, Kevin’s shoulders, who is available for adoption at WakeGov Pets. She’s what we like to call a pocket pittie and has a very mellow, shy personality, but adores people, other dogs, and cats! At seven months old, she may not grow much more, but she has so much to learn about the world. Her foster also says she’s crate trained, potty trained, and great on a lash. Learn more or apply to adopt Star here.
Secondly, you’ll see Ciara! Gorgeous Ciara is a one and a half year old Catahoula mix available for adoption from Freedom Ride Rescue. This energetic babe is looking for a very active family. She loves to wrestle and play all day long with her foster brother. Once she’s tuckered out, she doesn’t mind a nice snuggle with you. She’s still working on getting used to being on a leash, but with structure and training, she’d be an amazing adventure buddy. If Ciara sounds like the pup for you, learn more about her or apply to adopt here.
