On Sale Now: The 2025 Triangle Dog Of The Year Calendar Benefitting Charley's K9 Rescue

Our 2nd Annual Triangle Dog Of The Year Calendar has arrived!

This year our Annual Calendar Contest raised over $21K for Charley’s K9 Rescue! Yes, over $21 THOUSAND DOLLARS.

I chose Charley’s K9 Rescue as this year’s recipient of the contest funds simply for the fact that they focus on rescuing Bully breed type dogs. Due to overbreeding, Breed-Restriction legislation and housing, misunderstanding of the breed, along with general overpopulation due to lack of accessible spaying and neutering, Bully breeds definitely get the raw deal.

Charley’s focuses on pulling the highest risk Bully breeds from rural shelters, such as pregnant dogs, medical, or behavioral ones. There are, in fact, rural shelters that refuse to adopt out Bully breeds and will simply euthanize them if they aren’t taken into rescue.

Imagine your Bully breed pup ending up at a rural shelter like that through no fault of their own - perfectly healthy and adoptable but simply due to their breed, they are killed needlessly.

So, now you know why Charley’s mission is so incredibly important. Having volunteered with these type dogs over the past seven years, I can tell you how incredibly loving, resilient, silly, and rambunctious they are… We can do better for them. We must do better for them.

The money we raised allowed Charley’s to pull several medical cases and pregnant dogs along with having a bit of savings for the rescue. Nicole also invested in a ton of various supplies for the rescue allowing them to have back stock for the first time ever.

And now, with the launch of the calendar, we can continue to support them in their mission of helping overlooked Bully breeds across rural shelters in North Carolina. Each calendar sale is donating $14 right back to Charley’s K9 Rescue.

What’s so fun is that the calendar also features, not one, not two, but five Charley’s Alums many of whom had very rough starts to the beginning of their lives. Without Charley’s, they may not be here today!

With all of that being said, if you are ready to pick up your very own calendar, then you can do so here. Calendar sales will be open until December 31st, 2024.

Or if you are ready to view all of the winners, keep on scrolling.

Calendars not your thing? You can still donate to Charley’s K9 Rescue here!

PS If you are wondering, I am already in the works for a contest for next year with a twist! Stay tuned!

OUR COVER MODEL: PABLO (CHARLEY’S ALUM)

Pablo is a Charley's K9 Rescue! Pablo became my foster in May of 2021 and in August 2021, after little interest, we admitted Pablo had already been home for three months! Pablo is somewhere between 11-12 years old now and really loving his life. Pablo's beautiful burrito shaped body shows signs of neglect and not enough love. He is almost deaf, due to a severe ear infection he had as a stray when Charley's rescued him. He is my sweetest boy, who loves his walks, his treats, his blankets, but mainly - BALL! BALL IS LIFE for Pablo. He can often be found swaddled on the couch (usually me or his father will cover him up) with a ball or two by his side. Pablo is the most handsome beefaroni!

At Charley’s K9 Rescue, it is their mission to give dogs a second chance at being recognized as a loving and important part of the family. They place their focus on overlooked bully breeds left behind in North Carolina shelters. It is within this mission that they promise to be a safe haven where these dogs begin a journey of rehabilitation, gaining confidence and preparing for a new life of acceptance.
